Hey all,
I've been spending a lot of time in KiCad and have done a little bit of PCB production lately and have learned mainly by grubbing around the internet finding out how to do things the hard way. I'm going to try and document my process the best I can and this is where I plan to put all my KiCad knowledge. Feel free to add yours too and please ask questions, if I know how to do it I'll help, if I don't I can help you find out.

I use KiCad too... I tried another package first but there were some limitations (don't remember what it was now) so switched to KiCad. It's worked fine for me but it does take a bit of getting used to.

In particular I found I had to make a lot of the library items. Many that are there are not suitable for one reason or another.

Right there with you on that. Spend quite a lot of time making footprints, but I'm happier in a way as any mistake with them is my own! I've used library footprints in the past and had poor results.
