Personal Vaporiser/Vape/VW mod

Postby InSanCen » Mon Jul 07, 2014 9:21 pm

Having tried a fair number of devices available, nothing is quite what I want. So, I will be building one. I have no intention whatsoever of commercialising it, I'd rather open-source/hardware it and say "have at it".

Initial thoughts are arduino nano (at least for prototyping, an ATTiny for final device), FET, and a couple of input buttons (maybe a rotary encoder?) The ability to fire very low loads would be nice, but the main range will be 1-3ohms.

So, pile on with the ideas. I'm far better with hardware than coding, but I'm sure I can muddle through with some help.

Had a long drunken evening talking about vaporiser technologies, would be interested to give this a go (despite being a non-smoker and non-vaper). Suppose that "sub-ohming" would be on the agenda.

All you really need is PWM from the chip isn't it? Or would you look to sense and control anything? From the conversations I had it seemed that what you (the vaper) want is control for specific "juices". Think these are interesting little devices.
